 [Swr] Swordsman

The Midgard swordsman is a close-combat specialist. Being the steadfast
frontline of armies and adventuring parties, only the bravest dare to enter
their ranks.
The Swordsman Job Class has a good choice of Attack Skills and is one of the
Job Classes, which receives a very generous amount of HP. This means that a
Swordsman is usually the last man standing in a head-to-head fight with
monsters. The Swordsman Job also has the widest selection of weapons and
armor he can choose from, although he is prohibited from using Bow and
Wand Class weapons.

faith, Acolytes strive to aid others and attempt to foster hope among the
people, whose faith has waned in the face of Ragnarok.
An Acolyte’s divine magic provides healing and strong support to and
adventuring party. Among all the citizens that roam Midgard, none draws
their ire more than the undead.

How to become an Acolyte
To be an Acolyte, one must go to the Sanctuary located in Prontera, the
Capital City of Rune Midgard. Talk to the Cleric in the right side of the

The Thief Job class emphasizes on Speed and Stealth. Many of the Skills
featured in the Thief class involve stealth, speed and larceny. Although it
lacks the wide selection of weapons and Armor found in the Swordsman and
Merchant classes, the Thief can still deal a respectable amount of damage to
an opponent. The Thief has access to Dagger-class and Bow-class weapons.
With sleight of hand and fleet of foot, the thieves of Midgard fancy
themselves as hopeless romantics who don’t mind if a quick zeny or two is
made at the expense of others.
Thieves specialize in pinpoint attacks and stealth. Their unique ability to
steal items from unwary victims without having to fight has annoyed more than
its share of porings in the wilderness.

How to become a Thief
The Thieves guild is not located inside the Pyramids northwest of the
Desert City of Morroc. You don't have to take the Thieves test to become a
thief and you definitely don't have to retrieve 25 points worth of orange

 [Mer] Merchant

The Merchant Job Class is a rather unique class by itself. Although it lacks
offensive skills found in other Job Classes, it makes for up with its sheer
money making abilities. Many of the Merchant's Skills are geared for buying
and selling. The Merchant Job class also has a respectable selection of
Weapons and Armor to choose from, although it is prohibited from using Bow,
Wand and Spear-Class Weapons.

Masters at the art of the deal, these independent traders and craftsmen seek
to make a living on trade in the world of Midgard. With the roads infested
with marauding creatures that ambush the wary traveler, the merchants
specialize in skills that allow them to get the most out of their dangerous
travels.

Merchants specialize in getting the best prices for adventurers. Their skills
in haggling and identifying unknown items make them invaluable in the fight
for Midgard’s survival.

Alberta. The merchant quest requires you to pay an initiation fee of 1000z
and then deliver a package to a person located in a random city. Once you
delivered the package, you will be given a receipt, keep it until you return
back to the Merchant Guild. Once you show them the receipt you will be
granted membership as a merchant.

[Arc] Archer

The Archer Job Class has the most specialized selection of Skills. However,
what an Archer lacks in Skill selection it makes up in its ability to kill
opponents at long distances. Most of the Skills that the Archer has are all
designed to increase his effectiveness with his chosen weapon, the bow. Archers
are limited to the Bow and Dagger-class weapons.

Rugged frontiersmen with a pinpoint aim, the Archers patrol the wilderness
between the towns and cities of Midgard. Though many have a huge
individualistic streak to them, a well placed Archer shot could spell the
difference for an adventuring party surviving a dangerous encounter.

How to become an Archer
The path to Archer requires one to go to the Archer Guild located in the
Oriental Town of Payon. There you will be given the task of gathering three
different kinds of tree trunks. Once you have satisfied the quota given to you,
the path of the Archer will be opened before you.

[Mge] Mage

An arcane magic-wielder with the ability to cast a variety of devastating
spells on their enemies, the mages of Midgard unlock the secrets of arcane
lore for their never-ending quest to master the arcane arts.

The Magician Job Class is one of the most popular jobs. Its primary feature
is the ability to cast powerful elemental spells which can kill opponents at
a distance. However the Magician is not an effective fighter in close combat
situations, and can't take physical damage as well as other Job classes' can.
The Mage is limited to the Dagger and Wand Class weapons.

How to become a Mage
To be a Magician, you have to take the Official Magician's Test handed out by
the Magic Academy located in the Mysticall City of Geffen. In order to pass
the test you must mix a magical solution based upon the instructions given by
the instructors from the Academy. Once you succeeded in creating the solution
return to the Academy to be inducted as a Magician.

[nin]Ninja

Ninjas are an expanded class that cannot be rebirthed or adopted. Because of this, Ninjas are granted 69 skill points to distribute. They do however have follow up jobs: The Kagerou(male) and the Oboro(female)which take their roles as ninjas much farther and make them much more powerful.
Unfortunately, the ninja class was recently victim to severe skill nerfs that left the class in a questionable state. Players looking to begin this class should be warned: Be prepared to underperform.
That said, the ninja class is still fun and offers three types of roles to play: a magic ninja, a throwing ninja (now nerfed to be the weakest of the builds), and the melee ninja. Ninjas excel in the art of evasion with skills like Cicada Skin Shed and Mirror Image which prevent almost all non-magical damage from harming them. Their magic tree offers several fun spells that are unlike that of any other class (although nowhere near as powerful as the wizard class's spells).
This class is not recommended for new players though, being as that it is very expensive to play. The magic and throwing ninjas require materials to cast all of their spells, that can be quite costly.

Taekwondo

TaeKwon Kids are practitioners of the art of TaeKwon-Do. They fore go the use of weapons and instead specialize in a variety of kicks. Their equipment is limited to equips that are usable by all jobs except novices. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule.

Gunslinger

meow

Gunslingers are flashy and confident New Age warriors that rely on a wide array of guns and powerful skills to deal as much damage as possible in a short amount of time to their enemies. Gunslingers are always looking for a chance to show off their talent.
Bored with only target practice in smoggy Einbroch, gunslingers have decided to take up adventuring, like so many from the Rune-Midgarts Kingdom, in order to live a life of excitement and fame.
Unlike traditional classes, Gunslingers do not have a second class to change to (As of yet), but instead are allowed 70 job levels. This can allow for a range of very unique (hybrid and specialized) skill sets in the Gunslinger tree.

Second Job Classes

After obtaining job level 40 in a first job class, a player may job change to a second job class that his or her job class is eligible for. The three exceptions to this are the Supernovice, Gunslinger and Ninja job classes, which are not eligible for any second job classes. The maximum job level for second job classes, like most first job classes, is 50.

mastery in shields and strong faith, they have adapted the unique ability of
supporting their comrades by taking the full damage received by each member
of the party during combat.

also has enhanced abilities not only against Undead, but also with Demons.

the most amount of creatures in the least amount of time. Their spells rain
down on their opponents, dealing huge amounts of damage to multiple targets.

Geffen Tower.

[Sge] Sage

Realizing that there’s more to magic than blasting monsters with spells and
running away when there’s no SP, Mages went back to the basics and hit the
books to become Sages.

With a combination of enchantments, they can manipulate the elements to cast
and counteract the most damaging spells, making them indispensable support for
every party.

Waiting for some support themselves, Sages joined King Tristan III’s
adventurers, hoping they could somehow use their brilliance in charming the
king on giving them research grants after.

The job change test for Sages is available in Juno, City of Wisdom. Apply with
the administrator inside the Academy, located north-northeast of the town. Go

Taekwondo Master

TaeKwon Master is a class for characters who have chosen TaeKwon Kid as their first profession and wish to continue in the ways of the TaeKwon. One of the most notable benefits that a TaeKwon Master has over a TaeKwon Kid is the ability to wield books to help deal more damage physically. TaeKwon Master is an unusual class in that the majority of their skills are bound to the celestial bodies of the Sun (Solar), Moon (Lunar) and Stars (Stellar), and are very restricted in their use.

Soul Linker

Soul Linkers give up the ways of TaeKwon Do in order to develop and refine their spiritual powers. Calling upon the power of their ancestors, they can use various Spirit Link skills to enhance the abilities of other players as well as use fancy looking offensive and defensive magic.
Soul Linkers, despite their base being a melee class, are magic casters. Compared to Wizards and Sages, their spells are severely limited on what they can be used on, however, thanks to Mild Windthey can use powerful Holy, Ghost, and Shadow magic attacks, something that Wizards & Sages don't have. Depending on their skill build they must sacrifice something in one aspect or the other of the game, limiting them to only two choices out of PvM or PvP & WoE options. Although casters, Linkers, like Sages, can go melee.
They have relatively low HP, but better SP than average. Despite the high SP pool, their spells cost a lot of SP, so INT is often a high priority. On the other hand, many skills do not have extensive cast times (usually at higher levels), resulting in a lower need for DEX compared to other magic-using classes. With some VIT and their defensive magic, coupled with TaeKwon Kid's Tumbling, they can be quite good tankers.

Transcendent Job Classes

After reaching base level 99, job level 50 in a second job class, a player may transcend, where he or she will be reborn as a level 1 Novice. The exceptions are Taekwon Master and Soul Linker, which are not eligible for transcendence. By transcending, he or she will have to level up from the beginning once again, but when he or she changes to his or her second job class, he or she will become the transcendent version of it, opening up the opportunity for stronger skills and larger stat bonuses. The maximum job level for transcendent job classes, unlike non-transcendent job classes, is 70.

now a master of weapons with a special affinity for Two-handed Swords and
Spears. A Lord Knight has formidable attack strength and can crush an
opponent's defense with ease.

ability to go Berserk unleashes massive damage while in a state of frenzy.
A number of defensive skills complement the Lord Knight's combat mastery.

entire being and become a Champion!

methods to overcome opponents. All without ever leaving the shadows...

If you're being pursued by a Stalker, you'd best give up all hope of escape.

They specialize in spying, sabotage and stalking, stalking, stalking! They are
completely undetectable unless they want their prey to know they were after

inspire you to achieve a miraculous victory. Despite the name, the Clown is a
serious factor in any battle—not just because of his ability to keep spirits
high but because of his astounding archery skills as well.

 [Gyp] Gypsy

Everybody loves the Gypsy's dancing, especially her enemies. It's the last

thing they see before they go to their graves with a smile on their lips and
an arrow through their hearts. The Gypsy is so alluring that hundreds of acts
of heroism (and foolishness) have been performed in her name.

 [Hwz] High Wizard

The Mage and the Wizard have been able to tap into mystical and elemental magic

but the real power is now fully realized in the spells mastered by the High
Wizard. Only a fool would dare challenge the awesome might of a High Wizard's
power head on!

Third Job Classes

In Ragnarok Online, a character's abilities and skills are defined by their class (also known as job). Characters start out as Novices, then once they reach job level 10 they can choose between a variety of first job classes. After attaining Job Level 40 they can then change to a second class job, either 2-1 or 2-2.
Once Base Level 99 and Job Level 50 as a second class, they can choose to transcend and start the process again, being rewarded with a more powerful, transcendent character.
A 2-1 or 2-2 regular or transcendent character can then chose to change to a third class, which breaks the level 99 barrier. The current maximum base and job level for third classes are 150 and 50.
Alternatively, from Novice, players can choose to become the ultimate Novice, the Super Novice, or explore one of the Expanded classes.

Arch Bishop

Arch Bishops are the pinnacle of the Priest classes. They have a wide variety of skills at their disposal allowing them to better support large parties while striking down a greater range of enemies with Holy magic.

Rune Knight

Rune Knights are the final evolution of the Knight classes. They have traded in their Pecos for new dragon mounts and are ready to do some serious damage with an arsenal of new powerful attacks while also having the highest HP pool compared to other classes.
Rune Knights have a slower startup leveling-wise, but through persistence and dedication, they can become one of the most versatile and powerful classes in the game. They were unfortunately cursed with a somewhat poor skill tree layout, forcing players to have to get 22 job points right off the bat to max a basic AOE leveling skill (Ignition Break), or going with a Dragon Breath build early on, which may not be very strong in the first 20-30 levels. Rune Knights aspiring to have a Dragon Breath end-game build but do not want to use a skill/stat reset may resort to being mainly a party tank for 20-30 base levels until their HP and SP pools are higher for better damage, as that is how the Dragon Breath skill formula is calculated. The upside is that Bowling Bash is one of the most powerful non-third class AOEs and can be used until level 110-120 or so, but does require a good weapon and some practice with the gutter lines. Dragon Breath ignores reductions in PVP / WoE and is one of the main killing skills, but is dependent on party buffs such as Magic Strings and Sacrament.
And then of course there is the reason why they are called RUNE Knights: the runes themselves. Players that choose the Rune Knight class are introduced to a new system of buffs and attacks in the form of rune stones. These stones provide the user with immensely powerful buffs that ranges anywhere from a large increase in DEF/MDEF, potting ability, and massive damage increase. Creating runes does consume materials unfortunately, but the sheer power of these runes makes it worth the cost. It is highly recommended that every Rune Knight should get Rune Mastery for end-game use.

Royal Guard

Royal Guards are an elite order of Crusaders and Paladins that originally served under King Schmidtz of Glast Heim. King Schmidtz knew that to defend his kingdom from the terrors and chaos of the world he would need a special defense unit that answered only to him. That is how the Griffon-riding Royal Guards came to be.
At a glance, this class has relatively good HP pool and an excellent SP pool, when compared to their class counterpart. Unlike Rune Knights, which are typically forced into Dragon Breath types of builds, the Royal Guard has the option of playing with builds that involve Banding two or more Royal Guards together; a Royal Guard can play Defense or Offense very effectively, given proper foresight of his/her skill tree. In addition to gaining new and powerful offensive skills, the Royal Guard can easily draw upon its older skills, such as Guard, Spear Quicken, Sacrifice, and Rapid Smiting. This makes for one very powerful, vastly dynamic, and exciting class.

Ranger

A Ranger is the Hunter's 3rd job. Rangers are given a huge wolf-like mount called a Warg that they can also use to attack their enemies. They also have new and powerful traps at their disposal, from cluster bombs, electric shockers, to traps that can change an opponent's elemental property when triggered. While a hunter goes to hunt, a Ranger goes to war.

Guillotine Cross

Shadow Chaser

Rogues and Stalkers can now become Shadow Chasers in Renewal. They use body paint and other means to detect cloaked enemies, become totally invisible, and even debuff opponents. Shadow Chasers can also hide in their enemies shadow to pass off damage being dealt to them. Add to that their ability to copy skills from other 3rd job classes and the Shadow Chaser becomes a versatile and dangerous class to play and face.

Genetics

Mastersmiths already brought cart skills beyond the level of a Merchant with Cart Boost and HSCR, but Geneticists go even further. Improving the Mastersmith's Cart Boost by giving it strength buffs, even more movement speed boost, and adding new skills that allow Geneticists to battle using their cart as a weapon, the

Mechanic

The Mechanic is the 3rd job class of Blacksmiths/Mastersmiths, they have developed their skills beyond forging by concentrating into the creation of Machines, Powered suits, and even refining their Axe abilities. Mechanics are given the choice of two paths to follow: Madosuit Mechanic or Axe Mechanic.
Madosuit Mechanics utilize a system called a Madogear, enabling them to use long ranged attacks, AoE attacks, AoE party support buffs, and a range of WoE spells that make the mechanic a very formidable foe. The other path is that of the Axe Mechanic, which basically continues the blacksmith class in a more advanced direction. Axe Mechanics usually result to the use of a Two-handed axe, but are given an AoE skill to make up for it as well. They also have the ability to create Fixed Autonomous Weapons (FAW) which are capable of physical gunfire or ranged magic attack.
As is the case with all merchant classes, this class can be very expensive to play and is not recommended as a beginning character.

Sura
Sura is the 3rd job for Monks and Champions. Most Sura damaging techniques are skills that Monks and Champions have been lacking to do well alone; Area of Effect attacks, fatal to those get hit. They also have been given a new Combo System, wherein they can start landing an array ofdeadly blows to their opponents anytime they want. Suras have also learned the fine art of the Gentle Touch, granting them special buffs and healing skills that enhance their already excellent physical attributes. Suras also get a boost in terms of Spirit Spheres; they can now summon a maximum of 15 Spirit Spheres through Rising Dragon, allowing them to continuously spam their skills. Another thing about Suras that make them deadly in battle is that they are able to move right beside their enemies in an instant other than the skill Snap via Lightning Walk, and Knuckle Arrow. Most of all, Suras developed a devastating technique that allows them to deal a HUGE amount of damage; Hell Gate.

Sorcerer

Warlock

Warlocks are the advanced version of the Wizard class. They offer 2 viable roles: The instantcast killer and the crowd control support. Players will find that their roles in parties have drastically changed upon changing into this new class. No longer the primary DPS class most wanted for parties, but rather a fallback support class for controlling mobs and adding extra damage to finish off mobs. Still capable of great damage though, this class offers an interesting array of spells to choose from and offers players several paths in which they can take. The ice tree offers great crowd control with Jack Frost. The Earth tree offers great pvp capabilities with the ability to strip players of their equipment. And the fire tree offers a useful leveling spell as well as the highest dmg attack spell in the warlocks arsenal. Players also have the ability to memorize spells for instant casting at a later time, which can help with those nasty cast times

Minstrel

No matter how desperate a situation may seem, the songs of the Minstrel will inspire you to achieve a miraculous victory. Despite the name, the Minstrel is a serious factor in any battle—not just because of his ability to keep spirits high but because of his astounding archery skills as well.
Taught new songs by the gods themselves, Minstrels are now a powerful class. They are able to enchant the enemy with different music and deal large amounts of damage with Arrow Vulcan skill. Minstrel can also give half their stats to a supported character enabling the supported fighter to increase their damage. This job is known as Clown in other localizations
